Am I being faithful to what God has entrusted to me… or simply hustling to stay ahead?
Our workplaces may define productivity in terms of output and achievement, but Scripture models a different way to work—one rooted in Christ, trusting in God’s provision, and guided by the patient work of the Holy Spirit.
The final sprint of our working lives can be meaningful, impactful, and unnerving. The “Third Third” is a time to solidify our legacy and imagine new possibilities for the years ahead. In this session we’ll ask:
How can you discern God’s call in this transitional season of life?
How can you offer wisdom to the next generation? And what does an authentic, organic approach to mentorship look like?
How should you respond to ageism in the workplace?
What insight does the Bible offer about retirement?
Midlife brings new freedoms and tough questions as our roles and responsibilities change. Our confidence grows, but we have less tolerance for nonsense. As we reevaluate our priorities, we may also encounter professional plateaus or industries that have changed dramatically over the course of our careers. In this session we’ll ask:
How can your experiences lead to a more generous view of yourself?
How can you steward your professional commitments and capacity to influence in meaningful ways?
For those with children moving into adulthood, how can you pursue new opportunities, while navigating the complexity of this transition?
What practices can root your work and leadership more deeply in God?
For working moms, the early years of parenting can be the most intense of our careers. Life becomes a juggling act that’s both fulfilling and exhausting. In this session we’ll explore principles and practices to help you navigate the tensions of this season of life.
Establishing your career can bring a mix of emotions from optimism to uncertainty, a lack of fulfillment, or hope. In this session, we’ll address questions vital to building a solid foundation for growth:
How do you establish a career in a rapidly changing economy?
How do you discern God’s will if you can’t decide what kind of work you want to do?
What does “leading up” look like in the real world? And how can you strengthen your professional presence?
Where can you find mentorship from women more advanced in their careers?
What can you do to establish an effective online presence?

If it seems like your work is in a constant state of flux, that's because it is. Our work, our industries, and our society are always changing…
Scripture reminds us what is good and what the Lord requires of his followers: “To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8) When it comes to acting justly or loving mercy, you’re not alone if volunteering with a local nonprofit or giving to charitable causes come to mind. But what if living justly was more than an occasional act—what if it were an attitude or posture we adopted in all of life?
What if we could pursue mercy and justice in any type or work or role? Join us for a thought-provoking conversation with Kimberly Deckel, Executive Pastor at Church of the Cross Austin, Director of Faith, Work, Mercy, and Justice at City to City North America, and author of The Missional Disciple: Pursuing Mercy and Justice at Work and Adrienne Tafilowski, Executive Director of Mile High Workshop, a second chance work program in Denver, Colorado.
